Church and Christian School Initiative

Rick Martin Video Link

Children learn best when school and home are united in their focus and approach. The Christian School Initiative offers teachers and parents common tools to help children understand internal motivation, repentance, and honor in practical terms. Watch this short video of Rick Martin, principal of Cornerstone Christian School, talk about how they use materials from the National Center for Biblical Parenting in the classroom.

Each of the four core courses provide parents with tools that correspond to the techniques teachers can use in the classroom. A plan for giving instruction, correcting children, and helping them develop internal motivation makes the classroom a powerful place to learn life skills. The techniques were designed for busy teachers and provide a common strategy to help children relate well to authority at home and at school.

The Christian School Initiative has been developed with counsel from a team of Christian School administrators and teachers from preschool through high school. Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN have worked closely with Christian Schools to make sure that the tools and strategies integrate well with classroom management and a strong philosophy of Christian Education. Here are a few of the benefits for your school when you become part of the Christian School Initiative:

  • On site teacher training providing practical classroom management tools.
  • Parent education that helps parents learn at their own pace in the comfort of their own home.
  • Coordination of parents and teachers regarding behavior management using a heart based approach.
  • Free email parenting tips to use in newsletters or email communication.
  • Access to many more resources from the National Center for Biblical Parenting

The Christian School Initiative provides deeper solutions than simple behavior modification because the classes are designed to teach parents and teachers to work on the hearts of their kids.

Each one of the core courses has a fifth segment targeted specifically toward teachers to help them understand how to implement that material in their classrooms.
